I’ve certainly made the most of my commissions to photograph Château Rigaud, a super-stylish retreat tucked among the vines not far from Saint-Émilion in South West France and run with much generosity and panache by Anna and Aib Barwick. Not really like work – photographing wonderful interiors, landscapes and gorgeous food prepared by top chef, Steve Carrs and his team – but as good as it is, it’s a bit of a shlep to go for lunch or dinner. So praise be – Anna and Aib have only gone and opened a sort of outpost in Bradford-on-Avon, a mere half an hour train journey from home! I’m looking forward to rustic French classics from a menu put together by Steve and cooked in an impressive wood-fired oven known as a ‘Bertha’, beautifully crafted and atmospheric interiors from the very talented designer Debrah Smith and a blooming brilliant wine list to wade my way through.
